If anyone can vibe, what's your craft?
Can you just 'vibe' and get world class output?
"AI has changed the world".
"The only limit is your imagination".
"Start building with a single prompt".
Are some of the quotes that I've been hearing in the last 2 years. It seems like anyone can create any high-quality software, image or video by just 'vibe coding'.
But, is it true? Can you just 'vibe' and get world class output?
The answer is yes, but depends on the definition of vibe.
Majority of the 'vibe' users are LILO users (Lazy Input, Lazy Output) whose output resembles AI slop. How do I know?
I look for em-dashes, punctuation marks and perfections in text. Plastic skin, symmetric character faces and repeated patterns for images. Lip sync, scene continuity and unreal props in videos. Gradient colors and icons for landing pages.
I'm not saying its bad! But, if a kid can do this, what's our value add?
There are other 'vibe' users that I aspire to become. Those who leverage AI in their well thought out workflow to build products at scale, fast. Just not with a single prompt but craft!
All the expert 'vibe' coders overall have a high-clarity of thought on what they are building. 'How' to build is the problem of the AI provided that they find the right tool to solve it.
